This project presents a comprehensive sales and customer behavior analysis for Barista Coffee Shop, aimed at uncovering key patterns and business-driving insights across multiple store locations over a five-year period.
The process began with thorough data cleaning in Excel. I addressed missing values, corrected inconsistencies in product and category names, standardized date and time formats, and ensured that all numerical fields were correctly typed for analysis. This laid a solid foundation for accuracy and clarity throughout the project.
Next, I created new calculated columns to enhance the dataset — including fields for total sales (price × quantity), discount values, age groups, and time-of-day segments. These enhancements provided a richer base for uncovering patterns in customer demographics, product preferences, promotional effectiveness, and payment behavior.
Following this, I carried out an in-depth exploratory analysis using pivot tables, DAX formulas, and logic-based insights to understand the relationships between customer segments and sales performance. This step helped me extract valuable findings and verify the accuracy of key metrics.
Once the analysis was complete, I transported the refined dataset into Microsoft Power BI, where I designed an interactive and visually compelling dashboard. This dashboard showcases trends, comparisons, and high-impact KPIs across all major business dimensions—such as store location, product category, marketing source, and customer demographics.
Every step of this project was grounded in data accuracy and integrity. From cleaning and transformation to analysis and visualization, I ensured that each calculation was tested and verified for correctness. The final insights are therefore reliable, actionable, and presented in a way that supports better decision-making for Barista Coffee Shop’s marketing, sales, and customer experience strategies.
